DAY – 2: Report of WINGS Workshop

After the successful completion of Day-1 of WINGS-2024 Capacity Building Workshop. The second day started with brimming enthusiasm. The first session themed ‘Harmony in Life’ was facilitated by Dr. Shubhasree Ray, Lead (DGM) – Nutrition and Wellness, Reliance Industries Limited. The talk encapsulated the importance of work-life balance, physical fitness and mental well being in the workplace culture. Following the trajectory the second session was facilitated by Prof. Rajeshwari Raina, Professor and Head, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shiv Nadar University. The talk culminated in the qualities of an effective leader and the tactics to handle crises during crucial and fragile conditions as the theme was ‘Ethical Leadership’. Moving ahead the next talk was themed ‘Girl Math’ that was facilitated by Dr. Deeksha Gupta, Director at Global Strategy and Society Programs, American Chemical Society. The talk was engaging and unique as it was related to the rational approach of female counterparts in day-to-day decision making and its positive impact in professional and leadership roles. Followed by this the next session was a panel discussion on the topic ‘Role of Institutions to Facilitate Women in STEM’ with the following esteemed panellists – Prof. Ruchi Anand from IIT Bombay, Prof. Sandhya Koushika from TIFR Mumbai and Prof. Geetanjali Sachdeva, Director at NIRRH Mumbai. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Arnab Datta, INYAS CC Member from IIT Bombay. The session was energetic and discussed the core stereotypical demarcation of subjects based on gender, and how the government and institutions are promoting women in core scientific fields. Towards the end of Day-2 the last session was facilitated by Dr. Patrick Deneny, Industry Member Engagement Specialist from Royal Society of Chemistry who joined us online for the theme ‘Empowerment Talk’ and discussed about the resource support connection, reward scope community, reinforcement security certification, recognition success collaboration and reassurance skill communication as the pathfinder in the RSC ecosystem. Overall the entire day was filled with enlightening talks and towards the end an interactive activity was planned to engage the participants in analysing their personality followed by SWOT analysis.
