Announcing Newly selected Members of INYAS – 2026
Wishing a very prosperous New Year 2026!! The Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS) is delighted to announce the selection of its 24 new members for the 2026 cohort. The members have been selected after a rigorous and highly competitive evaluation process, and they symbolize some of the most promising young scientists of India.
The selection of new membership for INYAS in 2026 is characterized by an unprecedented level of competition, which yielded an acceptance rate of just around 5% indicating the prestigious nature of being a member of INYAS. The new members reflect an increased diversity within the scientific community.
The selected members also reflect broad geographical and institutional representation, including IITs, central and state universities, national laboratories, institutes of CSIR and ICAR and research institutions spread across India. The group elected for 2026 membership comprises persons from 09 institutions that represent INYAS for the first time, adding to its presence spanning India.
INYAS, being the national young academy, is also providing an opportunity for young scientists to be involved in science communication, outreach and policy, along with inter disciplinary work which contributes to the scientific priorities of the country and the world. The new members, who have just been inducted, are looking forward to be actively involved in such initiatives.
The INYAS expresses its warmest congratulations to all of the newly elected members and looks forward to their important input into the academy, as well as the overall innovative environment within the country.
