Detailed Report: Global Young Academy (GYA) Annual General Meeting and International Conference of Young Scientists 2025
The Global Young Academy (GYA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the International Conference of Young Scientists 2025 took place at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India between 08–14 June 2025 with the theme “Confluence of Visionaries: Empowering Science for Global Change.” The conference provided a platform for an international community of early- and mid-career researchers, innovators, policymakers and thought leaders to converge for an entire week of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
The programme included plenary sessions, thematic workshops, governance meetings, cultural nightsand wellness activities. Topics discussed ranged from inclusive research evaluation, innovation and entrepreneurship, ESG values, Industry 5.0, science diplomacy, health and nutrition and EMCR empowerment. A highlight of the post-conference, was the Hyderabad Declaration which saw the inauguration of the Network of Asia-Pacific Young Academies (NAYA) under the INYAS leadership, providing a regional forum to connect, build and mentor young academies.
