Young Academies’ role in Empowering Young Scientists

Dr. Chandra Shekhar Sharma, Chair, INYAS participated in a discussion panel on “Young Academies’ role in Empowering Young Scientists” as a part of annual meeting of Thai Young Scientists Academy. As a special drive, India is keen to invite budding researchers from all 10 ASEAN countries to study in India’s premier Institutes for their Doctoral program. This is one avenue where young academies of the region may network and help in pursuing scientific career for the young scholars. There are several areas and challenges which are global in nature be it climate change, antimicrobial resistance, clean water, renewable energy, food security and a truly international scientific collaboration may address some of these grand challenge which are before all of us. Covid-19 has taught us that we can collaborate with each other with minimum resources also. I feel this is the right time to work towards more joint activities that will further strengthen this idea of empowering young scientists. Today’s session may be a right start in that direction”.Dr. Chandra Shekhar Sharma, Chair, INYAS while expressing his views during the panel discussion in the annual meeting of Thai Young Scientists Academy.
