About SciPADReC

The SciPADReC project is a collaborative initiative between the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS), Indian National Science Academy (INSA), South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS), and National Young Academy of Nepal (NaYAN). The effort aims to offer science diplomacy skills inclusively and equitably for the sustainable development of society.

The workshop training is designed to expand scientists' comprehension of the intersection of science and technology, foreign affairs, and international relations, to help tackle multifaceted challenges in policy design at national and international levels. The initiative targets diverse professionals — including engineers, technologists, mathematicians and medical practitioners — who understand science but may lack diplomatic training, and vice versa.

The project is funded by the Inter-Academy Partnership and focuses on fostering dialogue among scientists, diplomats and policymakers through cross-cultural interactions to prepare stakeholders for global sustainable development.
