Awards and Recognitions (in 2020) bagged by the INYAS members

Prof. U K. Anandavardhanan (founding member, INYAS) has been awarded the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Mathematical Sciences.

Dr. Mudrika Khandelwal (IIT Hyderabad) and Dr. Pooja Sharma (CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh) are the recipients of the prestigious INAE Young Engineer Award 2020.

Subbiah Alwareepan got elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and also for the JSPS Fellowship Award under Experienced Researcher Category to carry out research for 10 months at The University Of Tsukuba.

Veerendra Sharma, Prashant Kumar and Kunal Chakraborty got selected as Associates of Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc) Bengaluru.

Saptarshi Mukherjee, one of the founding member, INYAS received the CRSI Bronze Medal 2021.

Saptarshi Mukherjee also joined a new journal from Elsevier, Chemical Physics Impact as a Senior Editor.

Rajendra Dhaka, Veerendra Sharma, Sharmistha Choudhury , Mudrika Khandelwal and Kunal Chakraborty as Member, National Academy Of Science India (NASI).

Deepa Agashe (NCBS, Bangalore) elected as Vice President of American Society of Naturalists (ASN). Earlier this year Deepa also received the Women Excellence Award from the President of India.

Sriparna Chatterjee received appreciation from Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Bhubaneswar chapter for her contribution towards science and technology as a part of celebration of National Science Day on March 2, 2020 at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Suman Lata, principal Scientist at CSIR- indian institute of Petroleum Dehradun  received the MRSI medal for Material Science.

Niti Kumar, from CDRI Lucknow was awarded the Women’s excellence Award 2020 by SERB India.

INYAS making mark globally –

Gitanjali Yadav, the fellow of St. Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge, is one of the women profiled by the college that completes 50 years of Women this year, as the first all-male college of Cambridge to admit women scholars.

GYA Corner

Chandra Shekhar Sharma, Prabhat Kumar Singh and Syed Abbas are selected as new members for Global Young Academy.

Anindita Bhadra has been elected as Co-Chair to lead the Global Young Academy.

Shalini Ghodke Arya has been elected this year in Executive Committee of GYA.
